English Wiktionary via Kaikki

Noun and verb forms, English glosses, IPA transcriptions, usage labels, related words and cited example sentences were selected from the Kaikki Dutch JSONL extracts, generated 2026-08-23 from the English Wiktionary dump dated 2026-08-05. Verb records come from the corresponding Dutch verb-by-part-of-speech extract.

FrequencyWords Dutch 50k

Selection order and exact-lemma corpus position use the FrequencyWords Dutch 50k list, derived from OpenSubtitles 2018 and licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. Corpus position is not search volume, CEFR level, part-of-speech frequency, or a promise that every displayed meaning is frequent.

Noun selection and modifications

  • Selected 1,000 lowercase exact lemmas with a de/het article, a plural and at least one Dutch example with an English translation.
  • Excluded senses and forms labeled archaic, dated, historical, obsolete, offensive, rare, slang or vulgar, plus a separate unsafe-language filter.
  • Deduplicated accent-normalized URL slugs, meanings and examples; limited displayed senses and examples; and grouped the library into independently crawlable A–Z hubs.
  • Added original article-and-number explanations, speaking drills, self-checks, evidence boundaries, page structure and App Store attribution.

Verb selection and modifications

  • Selected 300 exact lemmas with complete standard present and past anchors, a past participle, and at least two translated examples, supplementing 60 editor-written lessons.
  • Kept separable forms as supplied in the source instead of mechanically inventing a joined form.
  • Added original speaking-retrieval instructions, evidence boundaries, product copy, page structure and internal links.
